KONOHA CHUUNINS/ JOUNINS APPAREL: items higher-level ninjas, Chuunins and Jounins, wear *Note: the following items are common among Chuunins and Jounins of other ninja villages as well. Many ninjas wear shirts coated with a layer of gray “meshy” material. Mesh material is used in articles of clothing. Some ninjas, including Ebisu, Gekko, Kakashi, and Ibiki, wear bandanas to cover their face or head. Ninjas who wear these can use these to guard themselves and stop the enemies from hitting them with certain weapons. Some of the more advanced ninjas, such as Kakashi, also wear black gloves with a strip of metal on it. Kakashi even uses it to hold his precious book, Come Come Paradise! The pouch is large enough to store all types of weapons or tools, such as a kunai. In addition, some use bandages as part of their clothing – this is best exemplified by Kurenai, a female Jounin.Īll ninjas wear these square-shaped pouches somewhere on their waist. Bandages are also used to wrap holsters around ninjas’ legs. Rock Lee has bandages wrapped around his forearm for his special lotus Taijutsu techniques. Sometimes Genins wear them as well- such as Shikamaru and Sasuke. Momochi Zabuzan uses bandages to cover his face, perhaps to conceal his identity. A typical shuriken holster holds 12 shurikens.Īll higher-level ninjas wear bandages around their legs and arms some even around their waists. The holster can be easily reached and opened, to allow ninjas to operate and act quickly. Holsters are strapped onto a ninja’s leg, within reaching distance, and holds small weapons, like shuriken. Some ninjas (often younger ones), however, wear them around their neck, arms, or waist to be more fashionable. Usually, ninjas tie this forehead protector around their head. Each ninja village has its own symbol therefore, the forehead protector is also worn to show pride for the village.
The forehead protector consists of a metal plate, with the village symbol of the ninja carved onto it, on a long strip of blue cloth (or sometimes a different color). These are handed out to new Genins who are able to graduate from a ninja academy, signifying that they have matured and learned enough to become a real ninja.
